HAPPY NEW YEAR

This year has defiantly had its ups and downs. The high of mine getting the chance to see other states with my new job; meeting and making new friends, and learning to just let people that are negative in my life go; the lowest of all, the loss of a friend in death. All in all, it has been a valuable learning experience for me. Some tougher that others, but honestly wouldn’t change a thing. I believe that things happen for a reason. Maybe it’s for me to look at things different. Sometimes it is much harder to see what’s in your face for the better. My cousin Tammi always told me, “The strongest steel goes thru the thickest fire.” I truly believe this. You can value the examples that god has dealt you in your life or choose to make the same mistakes over and over again. I will try to learn from them the first time. That is my ultimate goal. I want my children to learn that it is ok. Things do get better. You just have to have faith in whatever you do. So, I welcome whatever comes my way.

Happiness to you always-

Regina

After Xmas

Even though Christmas is one of my favorite holidays, I am so glad it is over and things are back to normal. My house is clean and distant relatives. Don't get me wrong I love them all, but this holiday has been like a roller coaster. I just want to get our lives back to "the norm". I hope all your dreams came true and everyone enjoyed there holidays. I must cut this short but had to get out the frustrations.

Merry Christmas

This Christmas time is by far my favorite time of the year with my girls. Usually around Thanksgiving we are going through there toy box and emptying it. We always donate all their toys and clothes and shoes that does not fit to the Ronald McDonald house bin or the local shelters. The girls have been kind of hesitant to do this in the past, but this year has not been too much of a struggle. They understand that we need to give more to others that are less fortunate. It's important to me that I teach my little ones the meaning of this and love. I hope this is something they will teach there little ones as I have.

I would like to wish all my friends of the blogging world and the ones that stumble upon this blog a Merry Christmas. I hope all your dreams come true. It's not about how many gifts you get under the tree, it is the love and the memories that counts.

Mouths of Babes

So the girls were trying to convience me to take them over to there grandparents today. I explained to the girls no, your Nanee is sick. They said, she wasn't sick yesterday! I explained that she was sick you just didn't know it. And she needs her rest so she can be all better for christmas. I asked them if they would like to make her a get well card. Bella quickly replied, could she kiss her on the lips? I told her no, she is sick. Bella asked again, well could we kiss her on the cheek or forehead? I told her that would be better. Allison, who has to have the last word, asks me could we kiss her on the nose? I said, why the nose? Bella quickly replied, EWWWW that's gross. Allison said, Bella is her nose sick?!!!

I just laughed.

Jingle Bells

As a child this was one of my favorite songs.....
Dashing through the snow
In a one horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go
Laughing all the way
Bells on bob tails ring
making spriits bright
what fun it is to laugh and sing
a sleighing song tonight
Oh, Jingle Bells, Jingls Bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh
Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells
jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
in a one horse open sleigh
I read this and thought it was interesting....
"Jingle Bells" originally, "One Horse Open Sleigh" is one of the best known and commonly sung secular Christmas songs in the world! However, it was originally written for Thanksgiving! The author and composer of Jingle Bells was a minister called James Pierpoint who composed the song in 1857 for children celebrating his Boston Sunday School Thanksgiving. The song was so popular that it was repeated at Christmas, and indeed Jingle Bells has been reprised ever since. Also, this particular song has been translated into many languages as well. Various stories of the song origins give the place a composition as Savannah, Georgia, Boston, or Medford, Massachusetts. This copy write was granted in 1857.

Christmas Program

It was such a exciting night for all of us. I was on the edge of my seat for my girls. Allison, my youngest, was given a line to recite. We've been working on it for the last 3 weeks. When we arrived there was only a few parents, but as we waiting for our little ones to get on stage the cafeteria was getting full. So full they were lined outside. It was standing room only.

As the lights deemed, and the music was playing Christmas songs you could feel the Xmas spirit in the room as the little ones marched on stage. They were all so cute! Some of them had reindeer antlers, Christmas hats, Santa hats, and all of them looked so cute with there Christmas bests on.

All of my family was there to cheer the girls on. They sang Rudolf the red nose reindeer, Jingle Bells, Faliz Navidad, and some others I haven't heard. Everyone in the cafeteria was singing as they were. Allison did so wonderful with her verse! I was so proud. I was upfront taking pictures. Then to my surprise Bella performed with instruments. She was so good! I was so proud of her. Normally she gets stage fright and cries, but not tonight! She was such a big girl! It is starting to feel like Christmas.

Girls will be girls

The girls are morning people like myself. I enjoy the mornings. My husband on the other hand is complete opposite. I love to listen to them go back and forth with conversation. I feel like sometimes I have comedy central in the back seat. Like this morning for example:

The girls were apparently having there usual talk when Bella asks Allison, "Sissy, did you brush your teeth? Allison said, No, I forgot. Bella said, you know mommy wont kiss you!" Allison said, "YES SHE WILL, SHE LOVES ME!" You could tell she was on the verge of a tear. Bella replied, "Not anymore stinky breath!"

You could hear a pin drop. It was everything I had to not laugh!

Mouth of Babes

While getting ready this morning Allison asked if Bella was going to school. I asked her why? She said because she is a faker! Bella then yelled, "Tattle Tail!"

Ah, things to look forward too. :)

Gingerbread House

This weekend was all about spending time with our girls. Friday night we watched Christmas movies over and over again with my pip squeaks. My brother and sister n law came over for our chili dinner. It was such a great night for chili. We had such a good time. Saturday morning rolled around I made them there favorite cinnamon rolls. We watched sponge bob and played with them a bit, got ready for lunch and headed for town. They were so thrilled to go out to eat. It's the little things to them that mean the most. After our fantastic lunch, we headed for the movies. We watched Planet 51. It was so cute! Poor daddy was all stuffed up, but was determined to get out of the house with the girls and do something.

After the movies we headed home. When arriving at home, I took out this big box with all the decorations to make a Gingerbread house. My little one was so excited. It was actually fun. I was kind of dreading this alittle bit because I never did this growing up. So I just didnt know what to expect. So I organized my bowls of different candy, whipped up my icing and took my time. The girls and I had a ball. I think this will be something the girls and I will do every year. We enjoyed ourselves so much. There is just something about christmas. I just love these moments.
