MRS

Well, it looks like it was not a spider bite. I just got my culture test back and it turns out it is staph. It is in fact MRS. This has been the worst news yet. I have been secluded from my kids for the last week. I hate this. It is so hard to explain to my babies that mommy cannot hug or kiss them until my oozing heals. How I got this? Who knows. The doctor told me it is mainly in hospitals and nursing homes, but lately it is community wide. The bad thing about MRS is it can live in clothes, objects, anything! This is so scary, so now that I know what it is I am taking extra, extra precautions than before. WASHING HANDS every time I think of it all day long, spraying Lysol everywhere I go. Bathing in Hibiclens for 2 weeks from neck down, strong antibiotics, and some bacterium for the nose. And let's not forget the big hole in my stomach. It has been a nightmare. That was the worst pain ever to have your stomach opened drained. The numbing did not work, so I felt EVERYTHING! After the puncture he took a culture and stuffed with gauze. Then to top it off I had to pull out the gauze at home the next day. I hope everyone can learn from this. You can be very clean and cautious but there is that chance that it could happen to you. All it takes is a little scrap, or bite and it can get in there. So everyone be safe and wash those hands!

You poor thing! MRSA is becoming much more prevalent in today's society--some claims have been made that it a result of doctor's over-prescribing antibiotics and now all of these super germs are developing that are resistant to antibiotics. I do hope you are feeling better soon! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers!

Ouch! I've heard of it before, but wouldn't have had a clue about recognizing it myself. Sounds like it progressed really quickly. Hope you're feeling better by now.
